Our T-Shirt of the Month for September 2024, made of 100% organic cotton by a worker-owned co-operative, and supporting grassroots labour unions in South Asia.
It is dedicated to all Basque people who fought against fascism during the Spanish Civil War. “Gudari” means fighter in Basque. In September 1936, Bilbao and other nearby towns were bombed heavily by General Francisco Franco's nationalist forces, among them German collaborators who dropped incendiary bombs.
Designed by Bilbao-based Cuero Negro, who points out that the flag that holds the fist says “destroy fascism” in Basque language and that it also represents the “Ikurriña”, which is the Basque flag. What’s more, the helmet has the Spanish dictatorship flag’s eagle on it, with the sculls symbolizing the death and destruction caused by Franco and his regime.

When will I receive my t-shirt?
Printing of each T-Shirt of the Month will take approximately one week after being ordered. The shirts will then be shipped from France, and delivery should take up to one week for Europe, and up to 2 weeks for the rest of the world.
In the unlikely event that shirts from Humana Nova are out of stock, design will instead be printed on an organic t-shirt from fairwear foundation leader Stanley & Stella instead.
